Louis is an award-winning filmmaker currently based in Tokyo, Japan.

His filming method is to get as close to a subject as possible, resulting in impactful and engaging films. He has been recognized internationally for his work, which has been broadcast on TV and screened at cinemas and festivals around the globe.

Louis works across the UK and abroad, and is in the final stage of studying for a PhD in Film Practice at Newcastle University, due for completion this year.

His upcoming documentary Manga Nation was funded by the Daiwa Foundation and the Sasakawa Foundation, and examines the reach and success of Japan’s multi-billion manga industry.

His sepsis film series, produced in collaboration with Great North Children’s Hospital, were nominated for multiple awards and screened at cinemas in Newcastle, Manchester, London and Brighton.
